I have something new to offer any of you looking for support for practice on a daily basis. I’m calling it “Daily Dharma”. See if you might be interested….
Somewhat spontaneously during the last online class (which was called “Compassionate Self-Discipline” and was great–don’t miss the next one, coming up sometime this summer…!) I started sending out short emails every day that contained little things to consider, simple practices to do, inspiring things I had come across, and so on to everyone in the class. This turned out to be quite popular, and people asked if the daily prompts could continue once the class had concluded. I’ve waffled about this since then, feeling unsure how to go about it outside of the class platform, but recently it’s become clear what I’d like to do.
My intention is to send out something simple but interesting every day or at least most days. The messages will require only a minute or two to consume, and will need no response, so this should be something easy to fit within even a busy life. I plan to send out the messages in several ways, so that people can access the practice prompts wherever and however they would like to. I will send them out via email, and also post them to Instagram (The One Open Door) and Facebook (The One Open Door). If there’s another platform you use and you’d like to see them there, just let me know and I’ll see what I can do. In Facebook I’ve created a public group (okay, my pal and fellow practice enthusiast Janet did this for me–thanks, Janet!) and the Daily Dharma postings will go there as well. Within that Facebook group we can have an ongoing conversation about the prompts (and anything else related to practice), which I will facilitate. I know that many of you are not Facebook people and that’s fine (I’m not, either); if you are someone like that and yet would like to explore the things I post I hope you will come to Thursday or Sunday group and we can do that live. Said another way, I’m hoping that the stuff I send out through Daily Dharma will create interesting and insightful conversation either in the Facebook group or in the live meditation and discussion groups I do.
If you would like to be one of the folks who receive the prompts via email, just let me know and I’ll put you on the list! You would be welcome to unsubscribe at any time. If you’d like to receive them via Instagram or Facebook I’m going to figure you can find your way there.

Once you’re in the group, subscribe to all the notifications so that you’ll be alerted whenever I post something. I’ll check the conversation on a daily basis (more or less) and comment whenever I have something to say. If you have people in your life who you think would enjoy being included, send them the link and invite them to join. The more of us there are the more fun it will be!
